A Year in my Life

A Year in my Life

Like a caterpillar preparing for its radical metamorphosis, I devoured 2018 with zeal. Over four hundred twenty singing telegrams were delivered via my singing telegram agency this year, the majority of which I personally performed (though mad love to my whole roster). I entertained in China for the first time (then returned a mere six months later), visited the Indonesian island of Bali and finalized my upcoming single “Butterflies” at Colorado’s Grammy-winning Airshow Mastering. Below is a smattering of highlights (words and images) cherry-picked from a bliss-filled year of playing dress up, enabling joy through music and hopscotching around Earth's curvaceous body.

2017. While many Americans may have been understandably depressed by the current quagmire that is U.S. politics, my metaphorical glass is almost always overflowing with sweet ambrosia. Four hundred singing telegrams were delivered via my singing telegram agency this year, the majority of which I personally performed. And I wrote and recorded my new insect-infused love song "Butterflies" with Nigerian producer Daniel Iyere. Touch is vital. Research by The University of Miami's Touch Research Institute indicates that actual/tangible human contact has myriad physical and emotional benefits for all age groups. Lena Dunham isn't exactly the epitome of physical fitness. Yet the writer and star of HBO's Girls shared her enthusiasm for acroyoga in a March 12 interview with David Letterman. Referring to a photo of herself balancing upside down on Koha Yoga teacher Whakapaingia (“Whaka” for short), Dunham educated the now-retired late show host. “That is called acroyoga. Believe it or not, that takes a lot of core strength. I say this with a lot of self-love: Behind the wall of fat, my stomach muscles are doing a lot. If I was this adventuresome in my early 20s, I would've had a better time in the boyfriend department.”
