With Mother’s Day around the corner, I’m curious: What was the worst thing you did as a kid? My sister and I once had a house party when my mom was out of town. When my buddy Lex barfed on the brand new [beige] carpet, we tried to spot-clean it with bleach. That genius miscalculation devalued the selling price of our childhood home by a cool grand. But it's the third verse climax of my Mother's Day Beatles parody “Sorry for the Bad Things We Did (As Kids),” a Mother’s Day singing telegram formula cooked up by my publicist Erin Barnes and I. I was never a Deadhead. I never followed Jerry Garcia and company around the country in a VW Microbus. But I would consider following Wanderlust in Deadhead fashion (Volkswagen's new electric Microbus would be fitting transportation). The yoga lifestyle festival is the largest in the world, with incarnations in Vermont, California, Canada, Australia and Colorado. Wanderlust returns to to its current Colorado home-base in Aspen/Snowmass June 30 through July 3.

“We like to make it rain free water,” says Newton. “Last year, it was 114 degrees. They're in Vegas. I can't imagine they're eating healthy and staying sober in their hotels. They're partying beforehand. They're going to pool parties, and being in the sun dehydrates you. And then dancing for hours.”

Jack Cuneo isn't normally attracted to large crowds. But the Kindness Yoga teacher is making an exception for Yoga Rocks the Park.
“It’s always a magical time,” said Cuneo. “There’s just something about the experience of practicing and cultivating healthy habits alongside such a big and diverse group of people. I’m usually an introverted person, but I love it. To be honest, it gives me a little bit more faith in the world.”

Less than 80 miles from Cancun, you can imbibe a fresh coconut and practice mermaid pose on a quiet beach. “A lot of people associate the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico with the big, touristy resorts of Cancun,” explains Kindness Yoga instructor Ginny Biddle. “Maya Tulum is intimate and quiet. Jack Cuneo doesn't technically remember his first time seeing “Star Wars.” “My earliest memories of 'Star Wars' are actually from an audio cassette of 'Episode IV: A New Hope,'” recalls Cuneo. “George Lucas donated the rights to NPR and they adapted the script for the radio. Costa Rica is a biodiverse place. Five percent of the world's plants and animals call the relatively small Central American country home. Still, you'll rarely see a zebra in Costa Rica—especially since the government announced plans to shutter its public zoos in recent years.
